Using Adverb Clauses to Show Time Relationships

حتى تتمكن من فهم الجمل التالية، فإنك بحاجة لمراجعة الأزمنة و فهمها جيداً:

After she graduates, she will get a job.	بعد أن تتخرجْ، ستحصل على عمل
After she (had) graduated, she got a job.	بعد أن تخرّجت, حصلتْ على عمل
Last night I went to bed after I had done / didmy homework.	الليلة الماضية ذهبتُ للنوم بعد أن أنجزتُ واجباتي المدرسية
Tonight I will go to bed after I do my homework.	الليلة سأذهبُ للنوم بعدَ أن أنجز واجباتي المدرسية
I will leave before he comes.	سأغادر قبل أن يأتي
I (had) left before he came.	كنتُ قد غادرتُ قبل أن يأتي
Be sure to reread your composition for errors before you hand it in to the teacher tomorrow.	تأكد أن تعيد قراءة موضوعكَ الإنشائي بحثاً عن الأخطاء قبل أن تسلّمهُ للمعلم غداً
Just before I arrived, he had eaten breakfast.	قبل أن أصل، كان قد تناولَ الفطور
When I arrived, he was talking on the phone.	عندما وصلتُ، هو كان يتحدثُ على الهاتف
When I got there, he had already left.	عندما وصلتُ هناك، كان هو قد غادر مسبقاً
When it began to rain, I stood under a tree	عندما بدأت تمطر، وقفتُ تحت شجرة
When I was in Chicago, I visited the museums.	عندما كنتُ في شيكاغو، زرتُ المتاحف
We will have a big party when we get to Egypt.	سنقيم حفلةً كبيرةً عندما نصلُ إلى مصر

I‘ll help you with your homework as soon as Ifinish mine.	سأساعدكَ بواجباتك المدرسية حالما أنهي واجباتي
I heard Ahmad’s voice while I was studying.	سمعتُ صوتَ أحمد بينما كنتُ أدرس
A black cat ran across the road as I was drivingmy car to work this morning.	عبرتْ قطةٌ سوداءُ الشارعَ بينما كنتُ أقودُ سيارتي إلى العمل هذا الصباح
By the time he arrived, we had already left.	عندما وصلَ، كنّا قد غادرنا مسبقاً
By the time he comes, we will already have left.	عندما يأتي، سنكون قد غادرنا مسبقاً
By the time I left my apartment this morning, the mail carrier had brought the mail.	عندما غادرتُ شقتي هذا الصباح، كان ساعي البريد قد أحضر البريد.

I can’t go to university until I get the baccalaureate.	لا أستطيعُ أن أذهب إلى الجامعة حتى أحصل على الشهادة الثانوية
It had been a dull party until Samar arrived.	لقد كانت حفلةً مملةً حتى وصلتْ سمر
I think we should just sit here by the fire untildinner is ready.	أظن أنه علينا أن نجلس هنا بجانب الموقد حتى يصبح العشاءُ جاهزاً
I will be here until Shereen arrives.	سأبقى هنا حتى تصل شيرين
As soon as it stops raining, we will leave	حالما تتوقف عن المطر، سنغادر
Once it stops raining, we will leave.	حالما تتوقف عن المطر، سنغادر
As soon as (once) the taxi gets here, we can leave for the airport.	حالما تصل التكسي، يمكننا أن نغادر إلى المطار
As soon as spring comes and the weather is nice, we can start playing football.	حالما يأتي الربيع و يصبح الطقس لطيفاً، يمكننا أن نبدأ بلعب كرة القدم
I get sleepy as soon as I start reading in bed.	أنا أشعرُ بالنعاس حالما أبدأ بالقراءة في السرير
As soon as my little brother walked into the room, I knew that something was wrong.	حالما دخل أخي الصغير إلى الغرفةِ، عرفتُ أن مشكلةً ما قد حدثتْ
You will feel comfortable speaking with foreigners as soon as your English gets better.	ستشعرُ بارتياحٍ في التحدث مع الأجانب حالما تتحسّنُ لغتكَ الإنكليزية
Once summer comes, we will go the beach.	حالما يأتي الصيف، سنذهب إلى الشاطئ
I will never speak to him again as long as I live.	لن أتحدث إليه ثانيةً طالما أنا على قيد الحياة

I saw two plays the last time I went to New York.	شاهدتُ مسرحيتين عندما ذهبتُ إلى نيويورك آخرَ مرة
The next time I go to New York, I’m going to seea ballet.	عندما أذهب إلى نيويورك المرّةَ القادمة، سأذهب إلى عرض باليه
The next time I go to Egypt, I’m going to visit the pyramids.	عندما أذهب إلى مصر المرّةَ القادمة، سأزور الأهرامات
I had fried chicken the last time I was at that restaurant.	لقد تناولتُ فروجاً مقلياً في آخر مرةٍ كنتُ فيها في ذلك المطعم
I went to London. Afterwards I went to New Zealand.	ذهبتُ إلى لندن. بعد ذلك، ذهبتُ إلى نيوزيلندة
